i think he went to dior and maybe givenchy because of the money available and because he had an excuse to use the dior sillhoette/cuts that he is so inspired by.

Sheesh, don’t get stupid on me. He didn’t need to start out under another designer’s name in the mid to late 90′s. By then, he was already established as a top talent. He was and still is fathoms above Christian Dior….

What always gets me is that he is/was too good to take over the house of Givenchy or Dior. Shouldn’t John have worked at the house of Galliano? He’s long been a cut above all of those other classic houses of couture.
