Maurice Ohana / Robert Veyron-Lacroix, 1968: Carillons Pour Les Heures Du Jour Et De La Nuit

In this recording made in 1968 at the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Grenelle, Paris, Robert Veyron-Lacroix (1922-1991) performs « Carillons Pour Les Heures Du Jour Et De La Nuit » by the Anglo-French composer Maurice Ohana (1913-1992). I created this video from the LP, « The Harpsichord and Its History » (Le Clavecin et Son Histoire),issued in 1969 on the Musical Heritage Society label, serial number MHS 1163. Other works on this LP include Couperin’s La Létiville, Muséte de Taverni, and Le Carillon de Cithère; Froberger’s Tombeau de Mr. de Blancheroche; Rameau’s Prélude, Sarabande, Gavotte; and Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in E-flat minor (BWV 853). I believe Ohana composed this work in 1960.
