I picked: Power by Kenzo Roadster by Cartier L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir Chanel Platinum Egoiste These might not be the « freshest » of the fresh. But they’re the ones that I enjoyed the most. I’d love to hear some feedback. Especially about fresh niche fragrances, since I haven’t smelled very many.

Re: Layering. I do agree, it’s very tough to do. I’d suggest the best way to start is with lines like say Malone where each scent is pretty simple, it’s just one or two clear notes and they’re also all pretty mild so it’s hard to overdo it.
Also, choosing frags that are « linear » are probably easier to work with so you don’t have to think about the combo as each of 2-3 dries
Oh, I read « The Perfect Scent » cover to cover! A surprisingly rollicking account of the creation of 2 major fragrances.
And SJP’s personal blend was Egyptian musk oil, Bonne Bell Skin Musk and Comme des Garçons Incense Series Avignon.
I don’t know – layering perfumes is tricky. To me, it would be like pouring 3 different wines into one glass: turning a fine sip into slop.

If you read Chandler Burr’s « The Perfect Scent » which follows the creation of « lovely » it describes how SJP started the idea for the frag based on her own layering of 3 varied fragrances. I think one was a cheap drug store musk, the others I can’t quite remember. The book also follows Ellena becoming Herme’s in house perfumer and the creation of Jardin Sur le Nile… Good read!
As for layering, maybe start mixing frags WITHIN a house that’s designed for that, eg Jo Malone

YOU NEVER SMELT L’EAU D’ISSEY(falls of the chair)… well many of us havent.. lol..i own BVLGARI POUR HOMME SOIR..one of staples in my small collection.. love that smell especially the dry down..great line up.

Hi Teresa, I just made my own Youtube video on Bulgari PH Soir. I actually see this as more of a fall/winter myself. As far as tea frags and spring go, you should really check out 212 Men by Carolina Herrera. More of a green tea IMO.

My gf thinks you would be a better match for me since you and I would talk about fragrances nonstop since it isn’t her thing.

@ariscotm Well… The lady who sold it to me was from Israel, and her English wasn’t all that great. She didn’t specify what she meant, because there are lots of flowers that put the word « zest » behind them. There’s also a company in New Zealand named Zest, and they export flowers. I wish she would have been more specific.
@bpwool Hey, Man! Gucci Sport is a very warm and sweet cologne. If you’re into sweet colognes, you should definitely try it out. I personally love sweet colognes. I tried out Gucci Sport 3 days ago for the first time, and I fell in love with it. I’m definitely going to buy that in the near future. It also has a little hint of spice to it:)
