New York fashion director Harriet Mays Powell visited Karl Lagerfeld at his Chanel showroom in Paris for a closer look at his fall 2009 Chanel collection. But of course she had to ask about the fur-covered helmets he showed in his namesake line. « Theyre ice-cold if you put them under the arm, » he explained. « Its like hair. So its like having a huge wig. He also noted that the helmets have an iPod hookup. « Its a stupid idea, but the best ideas are stupid. This is so disgusting. I mean, how can people justify the murder of another for their skin? Honestly, everyone likes to look good, but people in the fashion industry take things too far sometimes, they’re so ignorant, childish and selfish . Its not even just about the animals, the human workers also suffer pulmonary conditions because of the tanning chemicals used to treat the furs as well. O yea, and all so some robot can walk down a runway
